A White Christmas

Being from Minnesota, every Christmas was a white Christmas. Living in Seattle, Christmas is usually never white unless you seek it out. Luckily, seeking out snow isn't too hard when you're surrounded by two mountain ranges. We took a short drive (1hr+) northeast out of Seattle to Gold Bar, Washington. We hiked to Bridal Veil Falls. It was fun seeing the snow thicken on the trees (and trail) as we climbed in elevation.

The last half mile of trail before reaching the falls was the hardest due to the incline combined with the slippery snow. The views were magical from the top! Definitely wished I had better hiking boots treads but I made it. The way back was a lot of downhill and went by so much quicker than the journey up. I did a lot of sliding down hills which was quite fun but not a great way to avoid getting wet. Nate wasn't so fortunate because he had a toddler on his back and had to be careful.

Another bonus to our sought out white Christmas, burning some of those Christmas cookie calories!
