Como Park Conservatory
Last weekend Norton and I headed back to the motherland for a quick visit. It doesn't take much to get my mom to tag along for a garden visit (or two). We spent a couple of hours visiting the conservatory and gardens at Como Park in Saint Paul, MN. It never disappoints and it's free! Can't complain about that.
The glass house has a few rooms with the highlight being the Sunken Garden. The horticulture display in this room is changed out seasonally. The current display was beautiful but a little on the "princessy" side for me. Pinks, purples, and whites dominated the color scheme.
My favorite sections were the water garden that surrounds the courtyard adjacent to the main entrance and also the pollinator garden across the street from the glass house. The view from the pollinator garden looking at the conservatory is what daydreams are made of!
My mom hadn't visited in many years (despite working mere miles away) and was excited to see the Japanese garden for the first time.
I should also mention that there's also a zoo. Norton was sleeping and we ran out of time so we'll have to catch that next time!
